Timber & Grain is my studio for piano-key, flip-down, and slatted hardwood wall racks — mostly walnut — plus one-off tables, desks, benches, and commissions. A small portfolio of pieces made once, finished by hand, built to use.

Why one-offs
Artisanal value, not inventory
Every rack and slab has a grain story — maple against walnut, a live edge, a knot that becomes a feature. I select timber slowly, mill carefully, and finish by hand so each piece is both sculpture and usable furniture.

Black walnut leads most builds, with maple and mixed hardwoods for contrast when the piece calls for it.

I make mostly artisanal hardwood wall racks — piano-key, flip-down, and slatted designs in walnut and mixed woods — plus custom tables, desks, benches, and other one-off furniture. Commissions start with a conversation about wood preference, size, budget, and how you’ll use the piece.
Prefer deep walnut, maple contrast, or a black-epoxy river? We’ll match timber to your space — then mill and finish it to last.
